  شيّعت الجماهير الفلسطينية جثمان الشهيد معتز بني شمسة (23عاما) في بلدة بيتنا شرق نابلس شمال الضفة الغربية، وشارك الآلاف في تشييع بني شمسة، الذي قضى برصاص مستوطن خلال مواجهات إندلعت بين الشبان وقوات الاحتلال في بلدة حوارة جنوب نابلس.
  
  أدانت الحكومة جريمة إقدام مستوطن على إعدام الشاب معتز حسين هلال بني شمسة بدم بارد، جنوب نابلس، فقد ندد الناطق باسم الحكومة طارق رشماوي بهذه الجريمة، موضحا انها تضاف إلى سجل الجرائم الطويل للاحتلال والمستوطنين.
  
  اجتمع السيد الرئيس محمود عباس، في العاصمة العمانية مسقط ، مع أسعد بن طارق آل سعيد نائب رئيس الوزراء لشؤون العلاقات والتعاون الدولي العُماني، الممثل الخاص للسلطان قابوس بن سعيد، وجرى خلال الاجتماع بحث آخر المستجدات الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وخاصة المتعلقة منها بالقضية الفلسطينية.
  
  استعرض السيد الرئيس محمود عباس الأوضاع الصعبة في فلسطين، في ظل استمرار الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، وما يقوم به من توسع استيطاني واستيلاء على الأراضي الفلسطينية، وانتهاكات يومية بحق المواطنين والمقدسات والممتلكات، مشيرا إلى الظروف الصعبة التي يمرّ بها الأسرى المضربون عن الطعام في سجون الاحتلال، لليوم الثاني والثلاثين على التوالي، وضرورة التحرك الدولي من أجل الضغط على إسرائيل للاستجابة إلى مطالبهم المشروعة.
  استقبل السيد الرئيس محمود عباس، في مقر إقامته بالعاصمة العمانية مسقط، السفراء العرب المعتمدين لدى عمان، وأطلع سيادته السفراء العرب على آخر تطورات القضية الفلسطينية، وأوضاع الأسرى الصعبة في سجون الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، خاصة مع دخول إضراب نحو 1600 منهم عن الطعام، اليوم 32 على التوالي، كما تطرق سيادته إلى التصعيد الإسرائيلي، والاستيطان، والاعتداءات الإسرائيلية بحق المدنيين العزل، والمقدسات، ومدينة القدس المحتلة، مستعرضا الجهود المبذولة لتحريك عملية السلام.
